Season 2026-27

The 2026-27 season: two races run, everything else to come.

On 25 October 2026 the alpine World Cup had run two races of its 2026-27 season and every other FIS World Cup was still to start. This page gives the races that have been held, the dates FIS has published for what comes next, and what is not yet known. No 2026-27 standings winner can be named.

Status on 25 October 2026

  • Alpine World Cup: in progress. Two races have been run, the women's giant slalom at Soelden on 24 October 2026 and the men's giant slalom there on 25 October 2026.
  • Every other FIS World Cup: upcoming. Cross-country, ski jumping, Nordic combined, park and pipe, moguls and aerials, ski cross, snowboard cross and parallel snowboard had not started.
  • No 2026-27 World Cup has a standings winner. No globe, overall title or season ranking can be named until a season is over.

Alpine World Cup 2026-27

FIS's draft calendars, approved at its spring meetings in Portoroz in May 2026 and subject to FIS Council approval, have 43 men's races at 21 venues and 40 women's races at 20 venues. The season opens with giant slaloms at Soelden, and the finals are at Sun Valley, USA, from 20 to 25 March 2027, according to FIS's calendar documents (the men's version dated 7 May 2026, the women's 22 May 2026).

Held so far

RaceDate and venueResult
Women's giant slalomSaturday 24 October 2026, Soelden1 Paula Moltzan (USA); 2 Lara Colturi (ALB), +0.01; 3 Emma Aicher (GER)
Men's giant slalomSunday 25 October 2026, Soelden1 Lucas Pinheiro Braathen (BRA), 1:44.72; 2 Loic Meillard (SUI), +0.48; 3 Marco Odermatt (SUI), +0.49

FIS says it was Moltzan's first World Cup win, in her 149th start. Mikaela Shiffrin finished seventh, and Julia Scheib, who won the race the year before, did not finish (FIS, 24 October 2026). The men's podium and times are from FIS's official results; FIS says it was Pinheiro Braathen's second Soelden win, after his first in 2020 when he raced for Norway (FIS, 25 October 2026). We do not report World Cup standings while a season is running.

FIS says contingency options for Narvik are under consideration because of infrastructure work there. The text of FIS's calendar documents came out jumbled when it was extracted for this research, so race-by-race dates other than those in the table are not given here. The Alpine World Ski Championships are at Crans-Montana, Switzerland, from 1 to 14 February 2027.

Nordic World Cups 2026-27

Cross-country

FIS published the cross-country calendar on 11 May 2026, subject to FIS Council approval. The season opens at Ruka, Finland, on 27 November 2026. The Tour de Ski starts at Les Rousses, France, on 1 January 2027, the Tour's first French stop, continues at Oberstdorf and ends with the final climb of the Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme. The finals are at Ulricehamn, Sweden.

Ski jumping

FIS's Nordic calendar of January 2026 lists Lillehammer, Norway, from 20 to 22 November 2026 as the opener for both men and women, marked as subject to "event quality enhancement". The Four Hills stops at Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen fall around the turn of the year, and Planica closes the season at the end of March 2027. The same extraction problem means exact dates beyond the opener are not given.

Nordic combined

The Nordic combined World Cup opens at Ruka from 27 to 29 November 2026, per the same calendar.

Holmenkollen and the Nordic World Championships

The calendar puts Holmenkollen, Oslo, on 12 to 14 March 2027 for cross-country, ski jumping and Nordic combined, and FIS's cross-country calendar article places the Holmenkollen 50 km mass start classic in the week after the Nordic World Championships at Falun, Sweden. The Falun dates are given differently in three FIS documents; the latest, the January 2026 calendar, gives 22 February to 7 March 2027. See World Championships for all three versions.

Freestyle, freeski and snowboard World Cups 2026-27

  • Park and pipe (freeski and snowboard): the season opens with the AIRDRENALINE big air at Bergisel, Innsbruck, from 26 to 28 November 2026, with the freeski final on 27 November and the snowboard final on 28 November (FIS, 22 October 2026).
  • Moguls and aerials: a search summary of FIS's provisional calendar gives a moguls opener at Ruka on 5 December 2026 and a season of 7 moguls, 6 dual moguls, 6 aerials and 3 aerials mixed team events. That rests on a summary of a provisional calendar, so it is unconfirmed. FIS said in March 2026 that the Shahdag moguls stop cancelled that month is slated for 2026-27.
  • Ski cross and snowboard cross: FIS has posted 2026-27 calendars on its documents page (ski cross dated 8 October 2026, snowboard cross 16 October 2026), but they were not read for this research. A search summary of that page says ski cross visits 10 locations in eight nations. Opening dates are not confirmed.
  • Parallel snowboard (snowboard alpine): the 2026-27 calendar was not collected.

How many park and pipe events, two FIS figures. FIS's article of 22 October 2026 gives 14 World Cup events each for freeski and snowboard, 28 in all. A search summary of FIS's earlier announcement of the Innsbruck opener gives "some 27". The later article is the more specific, but the two do not agree.

A FIS headline seen in search says Jakara Anthony (AUS), the 2025-26 women's moguls globe winner, is taking a break from competition for 2026-27. Only the headline was seen, and its date was not checked, so this is unconfirmed.

The Freestyle, Freeski and Snowboard World Championships are at Montafon, Austria, from 6 to 21 March 2027, with 31 medal events (FIS, 21 October 2026).

Outside the FIS World Cups

  • X Games 2027: the dates were not found. A June 2026 report seen in search says X Games will stay at Buttermilk, Aspen, through the 2028-29 season; it is a secondary source, so the venue is unconfirmed. See X Games and freeride.
  • FIS Freeride World Tour 2027: the calendar was not collected.
  • Biathlon: the 2026-27 season is run by the IBU and was not covered by the research behind this page.

How to watch the 2026-27 World Cups, as FIS has announced it, is on watching skiing. Last season's winners are on World Cup 2025-26.
